Nourishing Whole Foods

Organic, locally-grown and lovingly prepared with you (and your dietary preferences) in mind. What we can’t grow at Nelson’s Run is sourced from Lunarise Harvest in nearby Wundowie. Be confident in knowing that you are being kind to your body and soul, while supporting small organic farmers!

Guided Trail Run

Enjoy a run off the beaten track in the beautiful native bush around Toodyay. Choose between a 5km and 10km option, and enjoy a fun run with your local running guides Kirsty and Nikk (and the native wildlife)! Learn a little something about the local area and upcoming running events in the Avon Valley and beyond.

Personal Growth Workshop

Come together to consider, reflect and share on topics that help create a happier you! Nikk has 15 years experience as a facilitator and mentor, and is warm, generous and insightful in her approach and methods. She will tailor an impactful experience for the group, providing a safe space to share ideas.

Gentle Yoga

Whether you’re new to yoga or it’s already part of your weekly routine, yoga is an excellent companion to running! We’ll enjoy the benefits of gentle stretching, supporting the muscles that give us balance and strength, taking care of our joints, and mindfulness techniques.

Time On Our Property

Our property is complete with cuddly alpacas, goat kids and happy chooks! We run our mini farm based on permaculture principles. We manage all our own food and green waste, plus we love a good DIY project with recycled materials! We’re tucked alongside a beautiful state forest, offering a serene outlook.

The Beautiful Avon Valley

We are only an hour’s drive from Perth. Toodyay and its surrounds are a stunning part of WA with lots on offer to enjoy! Stay for the weekend and enjoy shopping and coffee in Toodyay, or visit the Wheatbelt towns you’ve always meant to get to. We’d be delighted to share our accommodation recommendations.

FAQs

I haven’t done much trail running, will I be able to keep up?
When you register we’ll ask your preference about joining a 3km, 5km or 10km run, and we’ll tailor something based on the group. Trail running very often involves walking up hills and slowing down to enjoy the scenery – which is exactly what we will be doing! It will be much more about the journey than the destination, and we love our mid-pack (and back-pack!) running!

I’ve never done yoga before, will I be flexible enough for the class?

Never fear! As runners we can tend to experience tightness in certain areas of the body, which might limit movement in some ways (like sitting cross-legged or touching your toes). This is exactly why yoga is supportive! There will be no pressure to perfect any poses in our yoga class, but rather to listen to your own body and follow it’s guidance on the day. As an instructor Nikk provides demonstrations and offers many modifications throughout the class, so you can decide what you’d like to do in a judgement-free environment.

What happens if I can no longer attend the retreat?

If you are unable to attend your booked date, please contact us as soon as possible and we can discuss a reschedule. Please note however, we have a 14 day cancellation policy after which a 50% refund is available, but refunds are no longer available for cancellations less than 7 days out from the event. You can always transfer your ticket to a friend though, right up to the day of the event.

What is the personal growth workshop going to involve?
On the booking form you’ll have the chance to select from a few topics that are interesting or important to you. Nikk will then craft something that reflects the group of people coming, the seasons and what’s happening in the world. The workshop will include a mixture of discussion, activities and quiet reflection time. You can opt to actively listen in the discussion too.

I can’t eat dairy and gluten, is there anything I can eat?

Absolutely! Everything provided will be organic and vegetarian, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options too. This is how we eat every day at Nelson’s Run and we love sharing beautiful healthy food with others!
